"ORION" UPZA is designed for transmission and reception of relay protection signals (base function) and automation commands (additional function) through a HF communication channel of overhead 110-750 kV power lines.
 

"ORION" UPZA is a modification of the "ORION" UPZ transceiver. Two additional universal modules are installed in the base terminal (MV - discrete input module and MURS - relay and alarm module), and in the  control module  MC, the software has been replaced, in which, in addition to the existing ones, algorithms for transmitting / receiving automation commands are implemented.
 

The function of transmitting / receiving signals of relay protection "RP" has a higher priority over the function of transmitting / receiving commands of the automation "CA".
 

The implementation of the functions of transmitting / receiving commands of automation (CA) involves the transfer of information from SAON (special automatic load limiting), fixing the state of high-voltage equipment (FOL, FOT, FVL), operability of high-voltage switches (SF6), remote input / output of local automatics, relay protection devices and etc.
 

The function of transmitting / receiving automation commands is implemented with the necessary safety factors and reliability provided that there are no power line fault. 
 

Visual (LEDs, display) inner and external registration of transmission / reception of emergency control commands are provided.
 

The number and the direction of used commands is selected by the user. Transmission of commands in simplex or duplex modes.
